Edwardsburg board approves multiple 2025–26 amendments and adopts 2026–27 appropriations

The Edwardsburg Public Schools Board of Education on June 30 approved a package of budget amendments and the district's 2026–27 appropriations during its regular meeting.
A staff member reviewed adjustments to the 2025–26 general fund, saying the district finished the year with lower student counts than forecast and received additional retirement reimbursements that improved revenues. The board approved the general-fund amendment, which adjusted total revenues and reduced total expenditures to the figures presented in the packet, and reflected a higher ending fund balance than previously reported.
The board also approved special-revenue amendments for the food-service and student-activities funds. The food-service amendment revised 2025–26 revenues to $1,482,724 and noted higher federal reimbursements tied to meal counts. For student activities, the board approved amended revenues of $499,600 and expenditures of $463,245, with an estimated June 30, 2026 fund balance near $352,366.
On policy and benefits, the board voted to elect the Public Act 152 option, limiting the district's payment of annual medical-plan costs to a maximum of 80% for the 2026–27 school year; the resolution cited the statute (PA 152) adopted in 2011.
