Lincoln County pre‑K teacher named Georgia Pre‑K Teacher of the Year

School leaders said Arthur was one of three finalists in the public‑school category and completed classroom observations, a virtual interview and teaching recordings as part of the selection process. The district held surprise recognition events for Arthur; the state will give her monthly opportunities this year to represent Pre‑K teachers, including speaking at conferences, recording a podcast and managing the state Pre‑K social media for outreach.
Board members and district administrators praised the contributions of Arthur and the LCE Pre‑K program, and noted the selection was postponed from Oct. 1 because of Hurricane Helen. Arthur will serve as a statewide representative for the school year and will appear at events and meetings related to Pre‑K instruction.
