Event coordinator Renee Miller told the council she and staff reworked a parking plan for the proposed Igloo event to use amphitheater lots, school parking and lower grassy fields with shuttle service as needed.
Miller said the prior Jerkfest parked slightly more than 800 cars and the organizers still observed roughly 400 unused spaces, and she suggested coordinating with Main Street businesses to use overflow parking at an agreed fee if necessary. She recommended a continuous shuttle and reverse-parking patterns to keep neighborhood streets from backing up and emphasized safety and a single on-site point of contact for day-of operations.
Councilmembers and staff also reviewed the Jingle on Main schedule, vendor questions and volunteer roles; staff agreed to follow up by email and to defer final approvals or additional event items to the first meeting in December. Council discussed using Eagle Scouts for volunteer support and asked staff to supply graphic materials and vendor guidance ahead of the event.
No formal motions were taken about the Igloo event at the Nov. 25 meeting; council asked staff to continue coordination and return with any permit or vendor fee recommendations.
