He asked Mayor and attendees to join a photo opportunity for the presentation.
Mayor and guests from Justin's Beach House — including Mary Ellen and Craig Nantis, identified in the meeting as Justin's parents — accepted the donation on behalf of the foundation. The mayor urged people unfamiliar with Justin Jennings' story to visit the charity's website to learn more about the program that offers free short‑stay support for families dealing with cancer.
Chief Foley then recognized Sergeant Chuck Sharp for 20 years of service to Bethany Beach. The chief recounted Sharp's longtime work as a community liaison, his role implementing policies and training (including CPR and AED instruction), and a 2015 life‑saving event that earned Sharp a Valor award. "Chuck, thank you for your service," Chief Foley said as the council and audience applauded. Sergeant Sharp responded briefly, "Thank you, sir."
The presentation and recognition were followed by applause from the audience and brief remarks thanking police and town staff for their coordination of the season's public events. The council did not take further action on this item.
