PERRY CITY โ At a Nov. 3, 2025, work session the Perry City Council agreed to a proposed schedule of meetings for 2026 and then approved a motion to move into an executive session to discuss real estate and personnel matters.
City Clerk Miss Warren told the council that a copy of the proposed 2026 meeting calendar was in the meeting packet and asked members for concurrence to proceed with the schedule as presented. "At this time, I ask for your concurrence to proceed with the calendar as presented," Warren said. Several council members indicated they were agreeable; the clerk and mayor treated the item as procedural and no formal roll-call vote was taken.
Council members named during the meeting included Miss Bum Grace, Mr. Jones, Dr. Albritt, Mr. Moody, Mr. Peterson and Mr. King. The acting city manager, Mr. Smith, reported he had no items to add. The meeting record indicates department heads were excused because the agenda was expected to be light.
Shortly afterward the mayor called for a motion to move into an executive session "for the purpose of real estate and personnel." A motion was made and seconded; members present were asked to indicate approval by raising their right hands and the council entered executive session. The council stated it was in executive session at the close of the public portion of the work session; the record includes no public vote on policy or details of what was discussed in the closed session.
The public portion of the work session covered scheduling and routine council items; the meeting moved into closed session for matters the council described as real estate and personnel. No formal ordinances or resolutions were adopted on the record during the session recorded here. The council did not announce a date for reconvening to public session in the provided transcript.
