Volunteers push bike and pedestrian safety programs, set workshop and outreach dates

He said the committee supports summer checkpoints coordinated with police and outreach targeting J‑1 seasonal workers who bike and walk frequently.
Diver described the committee's regular schedule and invited residents to a regional learning-and-sharing workshop on March 26 and a larger idea-generation workshop on Oct. 22 at town hall. Both presenters urged continued emphasis on helmet use, encouraging bright or reflective clothing for visibility, and safe practices for increasingly common electric bicycles.
Committee members said sessions are videotaped for those who cannot attend and that the group will pursue additional educational materials for summer events such as the Poseidon Festival and Fourth of July activities.
