Carrollton’s City Council on Feb. 3 approved a developer request to tie a proposed Highway 61 auto dealership into the city sewer line even though the property lies outside the city limits.
City staff told the council the parcel is outside municipal boundaries and therefore requires mayor-and-council approval to connect. Staff described the use—a commercial auto dealership—as consistent with corridor development goals and said it would have little impact on the sewer system while providing economic benefit to the region.
Council members moved to approve the sewer access and the motion carried by voice vote.
