Carrollton's city council adopted Resolution 10-2024 to officially establish the city's first Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) transition plan, staff said.
Planning staff explained the plan functions like a focused compliance plan for Title II of the ADA and includes audits of buildings, sidewalks and other facilities. Staff said Erica assembled department heads and spent about six months compiling the audit and recommendations. The plan will be adopted for a three-year cycle and updated thereafter.
Council moved, seconded and adopted the resolution by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Staff said the plan is intended to help the city identify barriers and prioritize accessibility improvements; follow-up work will include technical audits and department coordination to implement recommended changes.
