Three Waterville students awarded Fire Association scholarships

Waterville City Council recognized three recipients of scholarships administered by the Waterville Fire Association and the Carl Conrad family.
Keith Mosman, retired firefighter and scholarship committee chair, said the association received strong applications and selected three recipients to receive $800 each. He announced that Grant Hubley won the Carl Conrad family scholarship but was unable to attend as he was in Washington, D.C.; his mother attended in his place. Colleen Hildebrand will attend Miami University to study biomedical engineering, and Abby Powski will attend the University of Kentucky to study nursing.
Council members offered congratulations and brief advice, including reminders to register to vote and to keep in touch with the community.
No formal council action was required; this was a ceremonial recognition and community celebration.
