Morris Area Public Schools board approves policies, accepts gifts and sets snow makeup day

The Morris Area Public Schools Board approved several routine items at its Dec. 22, 2025 meeting, including acceptance of gifts, approval of the consent agenda, and adoption of three policies on second and final reading.
Trevor Seales moved and Kurt Wulf seconded a resolution to accept gifts; a roll call recorded ayes from Wulf, Seales, Goodnough, Konz and Just and the motion carried 5-0. The board approved the consent agenda on a separate motion that passed 5-0. The board also approved the second and final reading of policies #616 (School District System Accountability), #618 (Assessment of Student Achievement) and #619 (Staff Development For Standards) by motion that carried 5-0 and recognized the first reading of policies #620–#625 (Credit For Learning; Literacy and the Read Act; Mandatory Summer School Instruction; Online Instruction; Testing Out Process & Procedures).
The board approved a snow makeup day option by motion (Jan. 14 to be a full student day and Feb. 16 to be a staff development day); that motion passed 4-1. The minutes do not record which member cast the lone opposing vote. Earlier in the meeting Mike Aksamit and staff presented a Transportation Report; the minutes do not record details of that presentation.
