The Stratford City Council voted unanimously March 30 to set a public hearing on the city’s Fiscal Year 2027 budget for Monday, April 20, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The action took place during a special meeting called to order by Mayor Brian Ouverson at Stratford City Hall.
Council member Catherine Bergman moved to set the hearing and Doug Timmons seconded. The motion passed on a roll call vote with Catherine Bergman, Carol Bergman, Clark Conklin, Mark Scott and Doug Timmons voting "aye." Earlier in the meeting, Council member Carol Bergman moved and Clark Conklin seconded approval of the tentative agenda; that motion also passed unanimously.
The meeting was brief: Mayor Ouverson called the session to order at 7:30 p.m., the council handled the procedural approvals and scheduling for the budget hearing, and then approved a motion to adjourn made by Mark Scott and seconded by Carol Bergman. The council adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
The scheduled April 20 public hearing gives residents an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed FY 2027 budget before the council moves toward final adoption.
