Hanover planning commission installs officers, hears updates on Hamblin Estates, staffing and ADU review

The City of Hanover Planning Commission completed officer housekeeping and heard a series of staff and council updates at its March 23, 2026 meeting.
Cody Vojacek and Stan Kolasa took the Oath of Office. Commissioners then voted unanimously to install Stan Kolasa as chair and Jim Schendel as vice chair following motions and seconds from commissioners. Motions to approve the meeting agenda and to approve the Dec. 22, 2025 minutes also carried unanimously.
During reports, City Planner Cindy Nash said the preliminary plat for the Hamblin Estates development is expected sometime this summer. Council Liaison Mike Amery announced the Public Works Director position is open and interviews will be held this week; he also said City Administrator Jennifer Nash has submitted her resignation and that the council is committed to helping River Inn convert a temporary tent into a permanent structure if feasible. Planning Commission member Cody Vojacek asked that the prior fence discussion be placed on the April agenda. Planning Commission member Chad Olson said he is collecting sample ordinances from surrounding cities on additional dwelling units to inform potential code updates.
The meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m. following a unanimous motion to adjourn. The items reported are informational; no substantive policy or final land-use decisions were made beyond the conditional use permit recommendation recorded separately.
