At its Nov. 24 meeting, the Harris Planning Commission reviewed apparent inconsistencies between ordinance provisions that govern water and sewer fees and charges.
Commissioners noted that Ordinances 53.114 and 51.51 reference costs according to the adopted rate schedule, while Sections 54.02 and 54.03 specify particular costs that appear misaligned with that schedule. Commissioner Shari Denny moved to amend Sections 54.02 and 54.03 so they instead refer to Section 36.01; Chair Jeff Borash seconded the motion and it carried. The commission directed staff to return the proposed language and to schedule a public hearing at the January Planning Commission meeting.
No fee changes were adopted at the Nov. 24 meeting; the item will return for public comment and formal recommendation to the City Council after the hearing.
