Fish Lake Dock owner proposes 40x48 addition, raises erosion concerns on Stark Road

Thomas Anderson, co-owner of Fish Lake Dock, told the Harris Planning Commission on June 23 that the business plans a 40-by-48-foot addition with an 18-foot ceiling and that the proposed design conforms to local zoning, allowing him to apply to Chisago County online for a building permit.
Anderson also described erosion on the gravel portion of Stark Road adjacent to his property, saying rain causes washouts of the road and ditch that require repeated hauling of fill. In response, the mayor proposed paving that section of Stark Road to reduce ongoing maintenance needs.
Commissioners did not take a formal vote on the expansion or on paving during the meeting. The Planning Commission added the Fish Lake Dock item to the agenda earlier in the evening and reviewed the site and permit implications; no applications had been submitted to the city at the time of the meeting.
Next steps: Anderson may proceed with a building-permit application to Chisago County; any city-level approvals or road work proposals would require separate review and funding decisions by the appropriate municipal authorities.
