Upper Darby student reps, AP scholars and staff honored at board meeting

The board introduced the 2025–26 student board representatives, Cheyenne Lynch and Kandakar Maheen, who will represent students at monthly board meetings. Assistant principals Jason Cushek and Terren Williams made the introductions.
Superintendent Dr. Curtis McGary recognized a long list of high school students who earned AP Scholar honors, including distinctions for AP Scholar with Honor and AP Scholar with Distinction. Dozens of students were named and invited forward to be photographed and recognized.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. John Council presented certificates honoring district employees with 25 years of service and called attention to honorees from across buildings, including Parina Lazar (paraeducator), Jamie Whismer (teacher), David McGlenzy (physical education teacher), Joanne Clise, Pete Schiller and others. Board members and attendees applauded each recipient.
These recognitions were ceremonial; no board action was required. The superintendent encouraged the student representatives to comment at future meetings as "the voice of the student body."
