Stanton Comm School District elects new board president, confirms officers and administrative designations

At its Dec. 10 annual meeting the Stanton Comm School District Board elected Cameron Lewellen president and Zach Ward vice president, appointed Stephanie Burke board secretary and treasurer, set meeting dates and approved routine administrative designations including newspaper, bank depository and legal counsel.
Cameron Lewellen was elected president of the Stanton Comm School District Board of Directors at the district’s annual meeting on Dec. 10, 2025. The board also elected Zach Ward as vice president and appointed Stephanie Burke as board secretary and treasurer.
The annual meeting began after the board convened at 6:00 PM in the STEM Room. Stephanie Burke, in her role as School Business Official, called the annual meeting to order and the board approved nominations by motion. All motions to elect officers and to appoint Burke to the secretary and treasurer roles carried by voice vote.
The board also approved several routine administrative designations by motion. The district designated Red Oak Express as its official newspaper for publications, named First Interstate Bank as the district’s financial depository with a depository limit set at $4 million, and designated the law firm Ahlers & Cooney as the district’s legal counsel. The board set regular monthly meetings for the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM.
Board members discussed committee assignments for the coming year, proposing Technology (McDonald, Hoyt), Finance (Hart, McDonald), Personnel (Lewellen, Ward), Strategic Planning (Lewellen, Hart) and Buildings/Grounds (Ward, Hoyt). No formal vote was recorded on committee assignments at the meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026, at 5:30 PM in the STEM Room.
