Stanton Comm School District board accepts resignation, appoints Jaclyn Hoyt and hires assistant coach

President John McDonald called the Stanton Comm School District Board of Directors to order at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday for a five-minute special meeting that produced three unanimous actions: accepting a board resignation, appointing a replacement and approving a coaching hire.
Director Cameron Lewellen moved to approve the meeting agenda; Director Zach Ward seconded and the motion carried with Directors John McDonald, Cameron Lewellen and Zach Ward voting yes and Director Travis Taylor absent.
The board then voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Director Amy Tibben. Director Zach Ward made the motion to accept the resignation and Director Cameron Lewellen seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote.
Next, the board appointed Jaclyn Hoyt to fill the vacant director seat through the term ending November 2025. Director Cameron Lewellen moved the appointment, Director Zach Ward seconded, and the board voted in favor. Hoyt was sworn in as a school board director before the meeting adjourned.
The board also approved hiring Andrew Norris as assistant junior high football coach. The motion was moved by Director Cameron Lewellen, seconded by Director Zach Ward and approved unanimously.
President John McDonald adjourned the meeting at 5:20 p.m. Stephanie Burke, the district’s School Business Official and board secretary, signed the meeting record.
