Harmony EDA approves downtown grants, applies for generator grant and ratifies minutes

The Harmony Economic Development Authority unanimously approved two downtown revitalization grants totaling $35,205.52 and authorized staff to seek a safety grant for a generator at its Nov. 6, 2025 meeting. EDA President Kerry Kingsley called the meeting to order at 7:29 A.M.
The board voted to approve two grant applications: Farm Charm requested $9,587 for historically appropriate windows, a new front door and a permanent ADA-compliant ramp; Mason Weedman requested $25,618.52 for tuck-point brick façade work and replacement of a shared door and window. Stuart Morem moved to approve both awards and Kingsley seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Separately, the board approved a motion to apply for an MMUA Safety Grant to fund a generator for the Community Center. Greg Schieber made the motion, Kerry Kingsley seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. The meeting record shows unanimous approval for motions taken at the session.
Earlier in the meeting the board reviewed and approved the Oct. 2, 2025 minutes with corrections (noting the spelling of "Umbellina" and clarifying that the referenced green home was Tom Burke’s former home). Schieber moved to approve the minutes as corrected; Stuart Morem seconded and the motion was approved unanimously.
The EDA did not require a formal vote to recommend renewal of the Chamber services agreement for $30,000; the board indicated support for renewing the agreement under the same terms.
What's next: staff will pursue the MMUA generator grant application and return with any developments; the EDA's next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 4, 2025 at 7:30 A.M. at the Community Center.
