St. Charles council hears regional planning presentation, receives department and community updates

Under unfinished business, the council agreed to send the owner of a house on Main Street a letter setting a deadline to complete required exterior work, and noted a temporary rezoning meeting for the Hinterland Music Festival scheduled in Warren County on Feb. 13. The council discussed contacting G&H Asphalt about crack sealing to address street maintenance needs.
Under new business the council agreed to seek bids to overlay the asphalt portion of Main Street as a Summer 2025 road project. No final contract awards or funding allocations were recorded in the minutes.
During public forum resident Randall Lane inquired about the schedule for hydrant flushing and raised concerns about North Cross Street and road grading; the minutes record the question but do not include a detailed staff response.
