Camas board approves Ednetics contracts, facilities work and extends superintendent contract

During discussion staff explained those purchases are intended to create redundancy after the district experienced a recent outage caused by a fiber cut in the community.
The board approved a contract for tennis‑court resurfacing (a pass‑through project to be reimbursed by the USTA) for $206,834.25 from capital funds and a professional services agreement to appraise building/property for $5,700. Board members noted paperwork will be structured to capture reimbursements from USTA for the resurfacing work.
On policy the board moved policies 24.11 and 32.06 for first reading and approved policies 20.40 (facility dogs), 24.10 (high‑school graduation requirements) and 24.20 (grading and progress reports) on second reading and adoption.
The board also voted to extend the superintendent’s contract through the 2026–27 year with a one‑year voluntary IPD freeze requested by the superintendent; the superintendent said unrepped staff also agreed to the freeze. A board member thanked the superintendent for proposing the freeze and the board approved the extension by voice vote.
