Avon Sustainability Commission: Energize CT Home Energy Solutions mailer still pending utility approval

At the June 17 meeting of the Avon Sustainability Commission, Assistant Town Manager Grace Tiezzi updated members on the Energize CT Home Energy Solutions outreach effort. Tiezzi said the program’s mailer is still in the approvals process with the utility and that the commission is “slightly behind” its 2026 outreach target.
Tiezzi told members the release of the mailer, combined with the commission’s planned presence at the Avon Farmington 250 event, is expected to generate additional resident interest in Home Energy Solutions offerings and rebates. Commissioners discussed using the town’s Facebook page to remind residents to consult Energize CT when purchasing major appliances that may qualify for rebates.
The commission did not take formal action on the Energize CT item at the June 17 meeting but asked staff to continue tracking the mailer’s approval and outreach timing.
