Sloan council approves emergency street work and equipment purchases for maintenance

The Sloan City Council voted Nov. 20 to approve emergency street repairs and to authorize several maintenance purchases recommended by the city’s maintenance supervisor.
On a motion by Councilor Brekke with a second from Councilor Stoulil, the council approved a proposal from Lakeport Heating & Cooling for emergency additional concrete/asphalt removal and pour-back at the intersection of 1st and Buckley Streets. The minutes record four ayes and one abstention from Councilor Mitchell; the motion carried.
Separately, the council approved a motion by Councilor Burton, seconded by Stoulil, authorizing Maintenance Supervisor Dave Meyers to purchase a chlorine (CL2) gas detector, an ATV grass-seed spreader, and to contract Ward Electric for weather-resistance support of electrical infrastructure at two locations (corner of Brown & 6th and west softball field at 317 8th St. Sports Complex). That motion passed unanimously.
The meeting materials also included a routine revenue and claims report for October 2025, showing total revenues of $308,771.00 and claims totaling $129,492.77 across multiple funds; council approval of claims was recorded in the minutes.
