The Sloan City Council on Nov. 20 adopted proposed amendment #1 to the fiscal year 2026 budget and ordered a NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING for Dec. 18, 2025, at the regular council meeting at 7:00 p.m.
Councilor Mitchell moved to adopt the proposed amendment and Councilor Brekke seconded. The council recorded a roll-call vote: Mitchell (yes), Brekke (yes), Burton (yes), Larson (yes) and Stoulil (yes).
The amendment was presented under new business during department head reports. The council did not provide additional specifics about line-item changes in the meeting minutes; the notice of public hearing will provide the public and interested parties an opportunity to review the proposed amendment and offer comment at the Dec. 18 meeting.
The council’s action was procedural: adopting the proposed amendment and scheduling the statutorily required public hearing is a step before final adoption of any budget changes. The hearing notice will identify how members of the public can review the amendment and comment.
