The Town of Ballston Board on June 9 unanimously awarded a $2,721,609 contract to USG Water Solutions for the Water Storage Tank Asset Management and Maintenance Program and authorized the Supervisor to sign the contract after review by the Town Attorney.
The action (Resolution 26‑135) was moved by Councilwoman Kelly Jasinski and seconded by Supervisor John Antoski; the vote was 4–0 with Councilman Chuck Curtiss recorded absent. At the same meeting the board also approved an agreement to supply water service to a property outside the consolidated water district at 192 Eastline Road (Resolution 26‑137) and accepted the Map, Plan and Report titled “Ballston Consolidated Water District, Extension No. 5” prepared by Environmental Design Partnership, LLP (Resolution 26‑138), authorizing its filing in the Town Clerk’s office pursuant to Section 209‑c of the Town Law.
Councilwoman Kelly Jasinski has been pressing for evaluation of long‑term water needs for the east side of Town. Jasinski asked the board to seek a feasibility estimate from MJ Engineering for a location for an east‑side water storage tank and said a storage solution is a recurring recommendation in past water studies the board has reviewed. The board’s vote to award the asset‑management contract follows that request and will fund management and maintenance services for the system the Town owns or will operate.
Town Comptroller David Urkevich reported that the Town’s audited 2025 financial statements were posted ahead of the usual deadline and noted strong sales‑tax performance, including a record May sales tax of $437,000, which supports the Town’s general operating balance. Urkevich also noted recent grant‑related activity, including a $7,000 correction payment from the New York State Department of Transportation tied to a $1.8 million Finley Road Bridge project; the Finley Road grant was reported to cover 100% of that bridge project.
The water‑storage contract award requires Town Attorney review prior to execution. The board recorded no objections and adopted the package of water actions by unanimous recorded votes of members present. The accepted Map, Plan and Report will be filed in the Town Clerk’s office as the board proceeds with required downstream steps for the extension.
Next steps: the Supervisor is authorized to execute the USG Water Solutions contract upon attorney review; the board will proceed with administrative steps to complete the water‑district extension filing and the outside‑service agreement.
