Sigourney council approves consent agenda, pays $14,501.96 in claims with one abstention

Mayor Jimmy Morlan called the Sigourney City Council to order at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday and the council approved the tentative agenda.
The council unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included the Aug. 21 meeting minutes; Resolution No. 2024-09-25, a tax-exemption restoration for TD Investments LLC for commercial property at 902 Mackey Ave.; Impact Life donation dates at City Hall; community betterment projects; and the credit card report. The council also set the time and place for the Sept. 18 regular meeting: 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Council member Conrad moved and Council member Clark seconded approval of the accounts payable claims totaling $14,501.96. The motion passed with Ayes from Schultz, Clark, Conrad, McLaughlin and Iosbaker; Council member Lentz abstained, noting her brother owns Atwood Electric.
The meeting record shows the motions were carried by roll call and the council adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
The items approved under the consent agenda will proceed unless a council member requests reconsideration at a future meeting; the resolution on the TD Investments LLC property was adopted as part of that package.
