Penn Forest Planning Commission tables several subdivision applications, approves extensions and conditional approvals

The Penn Forest Township Planning Commission met on May 27, 2026, at 6:05 p.m. in the township building on State Route 903 and handled a slate of subdivision and land‑development items, approving a series of extensions and conditional approvals while tabling several applications for further review.
The commission voted to accept the April 27 minutes after a motion from Commissioner James Denier and a second from Stacy Venetos.
Applicant Mazzella requested an extension to Dec. 30, 2026; Commissioner Stacy Venetos moved to grant the extension, seconded by Chris Rau, and the motion carried. The commission then voted to table Mazzella’s reverse‑subdivision application on a motion from James Denier, seconded by Venetos.
Several other items were postponed for further review. Commissioner Chris Rau moved to table the Gullone land‑development application (motion carried). The Kocher reverse subdivision was granted an extension to July 27, 2026 on a motion by Venetos (seconded by Rau) and then tabled. James Denier moved to table the Pocono Camp and Glamp land‑development plan; that motion carried. The Passalacqua and Jane Neeb subdivision matters were similarly tabled following motions by Venetos and seconds by commission colleagues.
Getz requested an extension to July 27, 2026; the commission approved the extension on a motion by Venetos (seconded by Denier) and then voted to table the application.
On R&R Premier’s reverse subdivision, the applicant submitted a Department of Environmental Protection letter stating sewage planning was not required. Township engineer Rock Stahovic recommended conditional approval based on his review letter; Commissioner Stacy Venetos moved to accept that recommendation, seconded by Henry Doll, and the motion carried. The approval was recorded as conditional, subject to the engineer’s stated conditions.
Under new business, Rock Stahovic recommended conditional approval of the Nurek lot‑joiner based on his May 14, 2026 review; Venetos moved to accept the recommendation, Denier seconded, and the motion carried. For the Thomson reverse subdivision, Stahovic reported items still needing attention in his May 14 review letter; Denier moved to accept the recommendation to table the application, Seersma seconded, and the commission tabled Thomson’s matter pending further information.
The commission adjourned at 7:08 p.m. after a motion by Venetos and a second by Denier.
