Walker pickleball club backs city plan to reconfigure courts at City Park

Councilmembers discussed obtaining quotes for fencing, painting, and a tennis court net system for the relocated tennis court.
Brad Running, president of the Walker Area Pickleball Club, told the council a plan to accelerate the transition: he recommended taping tennis court lines and moving the tennis court to the new location to make the change happen faster. Councilmembers agreed the courts should ultimately be updated properly and directed staff to continue with the city's planned court change, including gathering quotes for equipment and installation.
No formal motion or vote on the court configuration is recorded in the minutes; the item remains a staff-directed project to be advanced through the normal procurement and installation process.
