Council approves airport grant, event permits and consent items; ordinance 389 passed

The Tracy City Council approved several resolutions and routine items at its July 22 meeting.
By roll call the council approved a resolution authorizing the city to execute a Minnesota Department of Transportation grant agreement for airport improvements (state/local portion, excluding land acquisition). The council also approved a resolution authorizing city licenses and street closures for the upcoming Tracy Box Car Day event.
Council approved the consent calendar, which included the July 7 council minutes, municipal accounts payable and payroll, municipal accounts receivable and Park Board minutes. The council additionally approved Ordinance 389 (second reading) requiring sewer-lateral inspections before home sales (see separate story).
Where recorded, motions were made from the dais and the council used roll-call voting for the resolutions and ordinances. Staff said the state grant packet is one of several pieces required before federal funds and final construction approvals for the airport hangar can proceed; staff will submit required documents to complete the grant process.
