Tenino library names interim executive director and reports program growth

Brenda Cameron, speaking for the Tenino library on June 23, told the City Council the library has an interim executive director, Andrea Bridal, a former deputy director who has begun reorganizing programming and services. Cameron reported there are currently 1,979 active library cardholders and said program offerings have expanded: the library hosted seven programs in May with 29 attendees and reported 12 programs so far in June with 206 attendees. She said the library added a family story time targeted to birth-to-5 children and cited recent popular events including a "touch-a-truck" day that drew families and emergency-service partners.
Cameron also listed upcoming events: a reptile program set for July 15 at 6 p.m. and a foam party near the museum on July 29. She said the library plans evening programming to allow working families to attend and that every enrolled student already has free access through a program referred to as "my TRL." Council members encouraged outreach to local schools and praised the library’s role in the community.
What’s next: The library will continue program expansion and coordinate with schools to increase student access and registration; staff said they will follow up with the planning commission where appropriate for joint outreach or space needs.
