The Park Board received several operational updates and approved a handful of routine requests. A staff member reported earlier residential pool-cleaner donations but said a commercial robotic cleaner for the large pool now likely costs $5,000–$7,000 (pool described as roughly 4,000 sq ft, 182,000 gallons); members asked for three to four quotes before any purchase and discussed sponsorship or advertising from Mermaid Pool to offset costs.
On signage, the board reviewed a LED sign quote and authorized Eric to solicit two additional bids so the board can vote at its next meeting; members emphasized wanting sign aesthetics to match town signage and were advised to contact local suppliers and school contacts for recommendations.
Under new business the board approved making the Emerald facility available free of charge for Kim and the Madison County Invasive Species Team (MIST) for a May meeting; the motion passed by voice vote. Members were also briefed on a large June 20 event expected to draw thousands of people through the park; staff will prepare a report for next month's meeting on logistics, parking and potential sponsorship to keep the pool open or free on event day.
