Pelham trustees set June 23 public hearing on proposed local law to extend videoconferencing rules

Trustees reviewed the legislative history referenced in the resolution: Local Law No. 9 of 2022 (October 25, 2022) expanded videoconferencing in open meetings; a 2024 state action (Chapter 58, Part KK) extended that change through July 1, 2026; and subsequent state legislation signed May 29, 2026 extended the amendment through July 15, 2026. The proposed local law would reflect a further two-year extension, to July 15, 2028.
The Board determined the proposed local law to be a Type II Action under the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and instructed the Village Clerk to publish notice of the June 23 public hearing. The resolution was approved by roll-call vote.
