At its regular meeting the Davenport Comm School District board approved a set of routine actions including service contracts, organizational memberships, fund transfers and personnel pay adjustments.
Contracts and memberships approved included the Mississippi Bend AEA hearing interpreter contract for fiscal year 2027 to provide services required by students' IEPs; payment of $13,493 to the Iowa Association of School Boards for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 membership; and $10,750 to the Urban Education Network of Iowa for FY2027 membership. The board also approved a Williams Middle School refrigerator and freezer project to Crawford for $83,219 and a Bullseye contract at $69,000 per year for 2026–27 and 2027–28.
The board approved a Relay Medicaid contract for fiscal years 2027–2029 that pays the vendor 7% of net Medicaid receivables to the district; staff noted Relay (formerly Timberland) secured about $2 million in reimbursements for the district last year and continuity of customer service was a factor in the recommendation.
Budget actions included fund transfers at fiscal year-end: $156,433.34 from the management fund to the general fund; $427,637.86 from the management fund to the Pebble fund; and a transfer from Food and Nutrition to the general fund not to exceed $600,000. Members described these as standard year-end adjustments.
The board also approved Food & Nutrition Services meal prices for 2026–27 and approved increases to substitute pay: daily substitute rate of $175, retired teacher daily rate of $200, and a long-term substitute daily rate of $220. A preschool 28E agreement with statewide voluntary preschool program community partner sites and a preschool service agreement with Community Action of Eastern Iowa (Head Start) were approved. Several board policies (401.01, 401.26, 501.15, 802.02) were also adopted.
All listed motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were provided in the transcript.
