At the Nov. 13 Wilmont council meeting, Fire Department representative Logan Neyens presented a one‑year budget he said would better match payroll and expenses and said formal approval will be sought next month after outreach to the Township.
Neyens also said the department has reapplied for a FEMA grant. He reported that volunteer firefighter Alex Fuerstenberg had resigned because he moved to Iowa. Council approved the department report unanimously; the budget will return for formal adoption at the next meeting.
Clerk Amber Bertrand noted she had not placed the budget on this meeting’s agenda because she wanted to notify the Township; the council agreed the item will be considered at the December meeting.
