Wilmont council certifies election results and approves two municipal resolutions

The Wilmont City Council on Nov. 13 certified local election results and approved two municipal resolutions and a charitable gambling permit.
On a motion by Council Member Isaac Joens, seconded by Council Member Josh Balster, the council adopted Resolution 2024‑07 certifying the election results. The resolution recorded Josh Balster as having the majority for mayor and named Isaac Joens and Tom Slater as council members who received majority votes. The motion carried unanimously.
Council later approved Resolution 2024‑08 to certify special assessments after a motion by Josh Balster and a second from Steve Brake. Council also adopted Resolution 2024‑09 to permit charitable gambling at the Wilmont Saloon; that motion was made by Alicia Entinger and seconded by Josh Balster. Both motions passed with all in favor.
The certified election results and the adopted resolutions were recorded during routine business and required no further debate. The council adjourned after completing the agenda and set its next regular meeting for Dec. 11, 2024.
