Pinckneyville — The Pinckneyville City Council on May 27 approved a package of public‑works and safety contracts, including professional‑services agreements with Henry, Meisenheimer & Gende, Inc. (HMG Engineers) for multiple sewer projects and updates to the wastewater treatment plant project plan.
Mayor Robert L. Spencer presented three resolutions authorizing HMG Engineers to (1) design sanitary sewer to Oxbow, Cedar Point and Charlotte Hills subdivisions (Resolution R‑2025‑11), (2) update the Wastewater Treatment Plant Project Plan (R‑2025‑12) and (3) design First Street sanitary sewer improvements (R‑2025‑13). Each resolution passed on council roll call following motions from Commissioners Joshua L. Kuhnert, Sammy D. Peradotta and William B. Stotlar, respectively. The minutes record approval on roll call for all three resolutions.
The council also accepted bid proposals from Hagene Excavating, LLC for demolition services at 701 Penina Street and on Taffee Street (Resolutions R‑2025‑09 and R‑2025‑10). Mayor Spencer presented the bids and motions to approve were carried on roll call.
Public‑safety and emergency work approved at the meeting included an emergency quote of $2,850 to Midwest Tree Service to remove a storm‑damaged tree that was leaning over a building, and a $24,076.70 purchase from Sentinel Emergency Solutions for fire gear and equipment to be paid from Fire – Capital Outlay with funds from a State Fire Marshal grant received May 2, 2025. Commissioner Kevin B. Hicks requested the Sentinel purchase; Commissioner Sammy D. Peradotta seconded the motion and the council approved it on roll call.
