Votes at a glance: Lincoln County commissioners approve routine minutes, claims, fee report and indigent cremation

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners approved several routine procedural items at its June 22 meeting, including the minutes from June 15, 2026; county claims and the treasurer's receipts; and certificates of correction and refunds submitted by the county assessor.

A motion to approve the June 15 minutes was moved and seconded and passed on a roll call vote. The board approved a motion to accept the county claims and treasurer's receipts with the caveat that any item appearing out of order could be pulled for individual review. The sheriff's fee report for $6,983.44 was received and accepted by the board.

Representatives from the assessor's office presented a certificates-of-correction item related to an accelerated personal-property tax after a business sale; Assessor Julie Stinger said the total for that item was $15.36 and the board voted to approve the certificates as presented.

The board also authorized the cremation of an indigent burial for Donnel G. Scott Jr. after Carpenter Memorial Chapel representatives reported the decedent remained unclaimed; the motion was seconded and approved. The board noted Health and Human Services had authorized payment of the cremation minus a bank account portion, which the county indicated would be handled.

Procedural votes were taken by roll call and recorded as approved; no formal dissenting votes were recorded in the public transcript.

The meeting continued with other agenda items, including a separate discussion and vote to accept a deed and permanent easement from Olson Farms for a road project.
