Commission moves several budget amendments, records FEMA grant and forwards trustee appointment

The budget committee reported several amendments and transfers that it forwarded to the full commission. Committee members said the following actions were approved in committee and will be on the full commission agenda:
- $581.68 transfer from delinquent property tax funds to reimburse a line used to pay outstanding 2017 property taxes on a parcel on Bale Valley Road. - $99,244.06 transfer from county general fund balance to cover architect fees for the new South Cheatham library in Kingston Springs. - $40,937.50 transfer from county general fund balance for architect fees tied to renovations at the Cheatham County library in Ashland City. - $16,471.72 reimbursement from a home security grant to EMA expenditure lines. - $26,000 transfer to cover payroll for an interlocal patrol in Pegram funded by the town of Pegram. - $22,670.75 reimbursement to replenish a line after a check stolen from postal service was fraudulently cashed (the amount was recouped). - $25,000 transfer from county general fund balance to cover fuel shortages through the remainder of the fiscal year.
Committee members reported these amendments passed committee unanimously, 5‑0. The mayor’s office also reported the county signed a FEMA grant for $182,862.52 and a $14,300 state‑covered addition to a health department renovation. The mayor presented four items for signatures (Beacon Technology fire alarm monitoring for the new jail, a Subway lease at Sycamore Square, a Clark Power Services preventive maintenance agreement, and a resolution proposing to move the county archives to the Cheatham County Public Library and library board oversight).
In separate business, the county budget board voted unanimously to appoint Lisa Goff to fill the remaining year of an unexpired trustees term ending June 30, 2027; that appointment will be submitted to the full commission next week.
