Auburn council adopts fiscal plan and moves to annex 40-acre ‘North Point’ area

On a motion moved and seconded, the council passed Resolution 10-2026 adopting a fiscal plan to support the annexation of the North Point Annexation Area, described in the meeting as land north of Morningstard Road and east of North Main Street. The fiscal plan, the council said, outlines capital improvements, non-capital services and financing for those improvements in the annexation area.
Immediately after passing the resolution on first and only reading, the council considered Ordinance 2026-16 to annex the same 40-acre North Point area into the city. The ordinance was moved, seconded and approved on first reading by voice vote. Council members offered no substantive presentation beyond asking if staff or “Jim” had anything to add; none was offered.
The Land Commission later reported that a primary plat associated with the North Point addition will follow and that related rezoning and plats will return to council as needed. The council did not record a roll-call vote tally in the transcript; results were announced as voice approvals.
