Wilmont maintenance report: lead-and-copper plan filed, hydrant flushing scheduled and repairs needed

At the Oct. 9 meeting, maintenance lead Steve Joens told the Wilmont City Council that the city has submitted its lead-and-copper site plan to the state and completed required water sampling.
Joens said the state is requiring letters to be sent to residents with lead, galvanized or unknown service-line materials; he and Clerk Amber Bertrand will prepare those letters. He reported that Justin should be able to place a valve at the ponds, that hydrants will be flushed next week (the clerk will post notice on the city's Facebook page) and that the community center boiler still needs repair. Joens also said a gas line needs to be dug and placed at the Fire Hall. He noted a radiator was installed in the plow and appears to work well.
Councilmember Alicia Entinger moved to approve the maintenance report; Councilmember Josh Balster seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Council did not set deadlines for the boiler or gas-line work during the meeting; staff were given the tasks of preparing required water-service letters and scheduling hydrant flushing.
