County Clerk Mary Feagler presented the amendments. Commissioner Aaron Walsh moved to approve them; the motion was seconded and recorded as passed in the minutes.
Weed & Pest Supervisor Bob Baumgartner submitted a letter explaining the request: the program sold over 200 gallons of a product called Rejuvra that costs about $1,176 per gallon, producing roughly $220,000 in unplanned cost-of-goods; he asked to increase the Cost-of-Goods-Sold line from the budgeted $375,000 to $610,000 to cover year-end sales and noted the additional expense will be covered by sales revenue and cash carryover.
The Fair Association provided a budget amendment packet showing $15,000 in unanticipated income/expense recognized for the Fair and a $10,000 amendment for Fairgrounds; the board accepted the Fair report and associated paperwork.
Commissioners approved the amendments by motion. The meeting then moved to executive session at 10:24 a.m. to discuss personnel matters and adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
What this means locally: the actions recognize that several county programs had higher-than-expected activity or receipts this fiscal year and the county adjusted ledger lines so expenses and income match. The Weed & Pest amendment is the largest and will be funded from additional sales and carryover rather than a new appropriation to taxpayers.
