Stone Park trustees approve $71,948 in bills, adopt two ordinance amendments and hire certified water operator

The Village of Stone Park Board of Trustees voted July 23 to pay $71,948.14 in bills, adopt two ordinance amendments and approve a resolution hiring a certified water system operator. The meeting was called to order at 6:25 p.m. at Stone Park Village Hall by Mayor Beniamino Mazzulla.
Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez presented the accounts payable for July 10–23, 2024: General Fund $66,702.75; Motor Fuel Tax $1,861.57; Water Fund $3,383.82, for a total of $71,948.14. Trustee Gutierrez moved to approve the bills and Trustee Marco T. Paz seconded; roll call showed Trustee Loretta J. Teets absent and Trustees Gutierrez, Sylvia Terrazas, Paz, Nazario Garcia and Simplisio Roman voting aye. The motion passed.
On Building & Grounds business, Trustee Marco T. Paz moved, seconded by Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez, to approve Resolution 24-05, authorizing an agreement with Certified Water System Operator Anthony Faciano. The resolution passed by roll call vote with the same attendance pattern (Teets absent; Gutierrez, Terrazas, Paz, Garcia and Roman voting aye).
Trustees also adopted Amending Ordinance 24-15 (Title V Chapter 50 Section 52.02) after a motion by Trustee Gutierrez and a second from Trustee Paz; the roll call vote matched prior items. The board adopted Amending Ordinance 24-14 (Title XI Chapter 111) on a motion from Trustee Nazario Garcia, seconded by Trustee Sylvia Terrazas; Trustee Gutierrez recorded an abstention, Trustee Teets was absent, and the remaining trustees voted aye.
Procedural items included approval of the Committee and Board meeting minutes from July 9, 2024 (motion by Trustee Paz, seconded by Trustee Terrazas). That motion passed with Trustee Gutierrez recorded as an abstention and Trustee Teets absent.
Deputy Clerk Nancy Garcia reported that auditors were on site for the week and said processes were "running smoothly." No new business or attorney items were reported. The board adjourned at 6:35 p.m. following a unanimous voice vote on the motion to adjourn.
The next board meeting record shows approval on August 13, 2024.
