The Village of Pelham Board of Trustees on May 26 authorized a one-year renewal of a grant consulting agreement, approved routine payments totaling $125,316.07 and received an update on flood-mitigation work and funding.
The board authorized the Village Administrator to sign a renewal with Millenium Strategies, LLC for grant consulting services at $30,000 for the period June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. Trustee Solomon moved the renewal and Trustee Anderson seconded; the board approved the contract with Trustee Eldahry recorded absent.
Administrator Scelza reported that engineering work on the village’s flood-mitigation projects is advancing: hydraulic and hydrologic modeling is substantially complete, refinements to pipe sizing and box culvert design are underway, sanitary sewer upgrades will be incorporated into contract documents, and staff are coordinating with utility providers to develop cost estimates.
Mayor Mullen told trustees he had briefed Congressman Latimer on federal issues and reported recent funding developments for the village’s flood efforts, including $1.1 million in federal community project funding and a $500,000 state grant; he said Westchester County is reviewing the village’s larger funding request and that the County Stormwater Advisory Board gave unanimous approval to the county-level review.
On fiscal matters the board approved claims totaling $125,316.07 across the General Fund ($82,111.77) and Capital Projects Fund ($43,204.30). Trustees also approved the May 12, 2026 work session and regular meeting minutes as amended. The board adjourned at 8:26 PM.
