The Moose Lake School Board on Jan. 12 approved a resolution to add Cheerleading and One Act Play to the Moose Lake–Willow River (MLWR) Rebel Cooperative Agreement, a pact between Moose Lake Community School (ISD No. 97) and Willow River Area School (ISD No. 577) for shared extracurricular programming.
The resolution states both districts agreed the activities align with their mission to expand cooperative extracurricular opportunities that promote participation, equity and program sustainability. The board authorized the superintendent or designee to finalize amendments and execute necessary documents in accordance with Minnesota State High School League requirements. The motion passed by a unanimous roll-call vote.
Board members framed the action as a measure to increase student participation options and to ensure cooperative sports and activities comply with league and state guidelines. The resolution text clarifies that administrative execution of amendments is delegated to district leadership; any subsequent operational decisions would follow standard cooperative procedures and league rules.
The cooperative agreement addition takes effect as the districts finalize amendment language and comply with applicable MSHSL (league) requirements.
