Jenkinsburg council adopts city email policy, accepts FY‑2026 budgets for review and appoints special events committee

Mayor Eddie Ford called the City of Jenkinsburg’s regular council meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Monday. The council unanimously adopted a formal city email policy, accepted presentation of the proposed FY 2026 budgets for review, and appointed a Special Event Committee; the 2024 audit was presented to the council.
Mayor Pro‑Tem Jason Watts moved to adopt the agenda at the start of the meeting; Council Member Gary Brown seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Gary Brown gave the invocation and Mayor Ford led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Council Member Gary Brown moved to approve the Sept. 22, 2025 minutes as presented; Brent Eberspacher seconded and the minutes were approved by unanimous vote. Jason Watts then moved to accept the city’s September and October 2025 financial reports; Eberspacher seconded and the council voted unanimously to accept those reports.
On a motion by Jason Watts, seconded by Gary Roberts, the council voted unanimously to adopt JBGR 25‑02, establishing official City email accounts and incorporating an email policy into the city employee handbook. The policy was adopted by roll call (Jason Watts—aye; Joye England—aye; Gary Brown—aye; Gary Roberts—aye; Brent Eberspacher—aye).
Jason Watts moved, and Gary Brown seconded, to accept presentation of the proposed FY 2026 budgets for review. The council voted unanimously to accept the presentation; the budgets were submitted for review and were not adopted as final at the meeting.
On a motion by Jason Watts and seconded by Brent Eberspacher, the council unanimously appointed a Special Event Committee consisting of Leona Roberts, Council Member Gary Roberts, Charles Barber, Stephanie Norton and Katie Lunsford. The committee members were appointed by vote (Watts—aye; England—aye; Brown—aye; Roberts—aye; Eberspacher—aye).
Mayor’s and staff reports were given with no action required. Debbie L. McGlaun, CPA, presented the city’s 2024 audit to the council; the audit presentation was received as information and no formal vote on the audit was recorded in the minutes.
Having completed the agenda, Mayor Eddie Ford adjourned the meeting at 7:53 p.m.
