The Lafayette City Council convened a special meeting Jan. 29 and approved early payoff of an equipment bond before entering and exiting a closed session to consider a potential well property.
Mayor Curt Tauber called the special meeting to order at 7:20 p.m. Councilor Tom Polich moved to approve the agenda; Councilor Logan VanDeest seconded the motion and the agenda was adopted by voice vote.
Councilor Logan VanDeest moved, and Councilor Tom Polich seconded, a motion to approve early payoff of the Equipment Bond. The motion passed by voice vote with all members present recorded as 'ayes.' Present for the vote were Mayor Curt Tauber and Councilors Dave Reed, Tom Polich and Logan VanDeest.
Mayor Tauber closed the special meeting at 7:22 p.m. to discuss a property option for a potential new municipal well on parcel 15.841.0555, citing Minnesota Statute 13D.05, subd. 3(c)(3) as authorization for the closed-session topic.
