The Silver Plume Board of Trustees on April 13 approved a $32,000 bridge loan to cover outstanding costs associated with the Taylor Kennedy land acquisition while grant reimbursements arrive.
Cindy Neely presented a letter listing outstanding bills related to the land purchase and conservation easement. Neely said some pledged funds and grants (GOCO and NOCO) have not yet been received, creating a $32,000 shortfall; she asked the Board for a bridge loan to float the conservation easement and related bills until reimbursements arrive. Neely estimated the conservation easement cost budgeted at $10,000 will likely be closer to $7,500 but said final figures were not yet available.
Mayor Berenato said the NOCO funds—expected mid‑May and estimated at $37,000—would reimburse the bridge loan in short order. Trustee Martin Gitlin moved to approve the $32,000 bridge loan; Trustee Gitlin’s motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
Board discussion touched on which entity would be billed for EMS services on town property and a reminder that restricted funds remaining after reimbursements were expected to be used for park signage and incidental costs.
