The Silver Plume Board of Trustees on April 13 unanimously appointed Nile McGlauchlin to the town’s Road & Bridge Committee and adopted Resolution 2026‑04 to govern filling a vacant trustee seat.
Mayor Lee Berenato moved to appoint McGlauchlin, noting McGlauchlin had been “doing the R&B work” and had expressed interest in an official role; the motion was seconded by Trustee Martin Gitlin and carried with all in favor. After the appointment the R&B Committee roster includes McGlauchlin, Berenato, Gitlin, Mac McDonald and Mickey Frey; McDonald said he may resign from that committee.
Clerk Chelsea Nihiser introduced Resolution 2026‑04 after explaining the April election left an unfilled seat on the Board. Nihiser said the clerk’s office will accept letters of interest through April 27; the Board will review submitted letters at the regular April 27 meeting and appoint a replacement from among qualified applicants. One letter of interest from longtime resident Lisa Rae had already been submitted.
Trustee Tammy Frey asked the clerk to solicit a particular town resident; Nihiser responded that recruiting candidates is not the clerk’s duty and that interested residents should submit letters of interest on their own initiative.
The board voted unanimously to adopt the resolution and to confirm McGlauchlin’s committee appointment. The next step is the April 27 meeting, when the Board will consider trustee appointment(s) based on received letters.
