The Lake Benton City Council on March 2 approved work to install a new sewer line and run a previously disconnected water line to a property north of the city gas station, authorizing a combined expenditure of $120,000.
Maintenance Supervisor Travis Lustfield said Banner Associates quoted about $60,000 to install the sewer line and roughly $50,000 to $60,000 to run the water line from Center Street under the viaduct; the scope includes a new hydrant. The council voted to proceed with the combined work and cost.
The council did not record further financing details during the meeting; staff will manage procurement and implementation through the public works budget and report back as work proceeds.
