Lafayette — The Lafayette City Council approved a slate of routine and personnel actions at its Jan. 12 meeting, including the consent agenda, annual appointments, authorized signers and a schedule of meetings for 2026.
Key approvals included: the updated agenda and consent agenda (which contained Dec. minutes, bills totaling $337,755.61, receipts of $220,651.49, the Treasurer's report, and Donations Resolution 2026-03 with gifts totaling $8,868.50); ambulance officer elections and pay-rate increases; Resolution 2026-01 (annual appointments); Resolution 2026-04 (authorized signers); the 2026 council meeting schedule; Certification of Approval of Lot Combination (approved with Councilor Logan VanDeest abstaining); and a motion to have Utilities Assistant Brennan Moldan begin attending council meetings for training beginning in February.
Most motions passed on unanimous voice or roll-call votes as noted in the minutes. The ambulance officer elections and pay schedule adopted positions and annual pay amounts recorded in the minutes (President: Mark Dick, $1,400; Vice President: Marti Uhde, $700; Secretary: Gary Griebel, $700; Run Data Officer: Shari Beranek: $400/year + $5/call; Training Officer Haleigh Platz $500/year; other officer assignments noted). Council also recorded that the February steak fry traditionally held by Ambulance will not occur in its usual slot this year.
Next steps: The clerk and relevant departments will follow through on administrative tasks, including completing the audit on Jan. 29–30, onboarding the incoming clerk's transition at the 90-day mark in February, and implementing authorized signers for banking and credit-card transitions during the audit period.
