Mr. Hansen reported a well-attended open house, an Elk volleyball game on Sept. 18, school pictures set for Oct. 2, a Lake Benton Fire Department visit scheduled for Oct. 9 for Fire Prevention Week, preschool screening on Oct. 22 and parent-teacher conferences on Nov. 17 and Nov. 24. He also said the district removed a tree from the middle of the playground because of safety concerns and that Buffalo Ridge Plumbing repaired a dishwasher drain-line problem. Mr. Hansen noted that students from Elkton brought doughnuts coordinated by Jenny Nordmeyer and Grace Lutheran Church.
Mr. Woelber said the first home volleyball game in Lake Benton went well and that auditors' preliminary review looked acceptable; a full audit is expected in October. Board members reported the negotiations committee is "nearing a finalized deal" on teacher contracts for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years; no formal motion or contract text was included in the minutes.
